If you have been alerted by a facility, came into close contact in regular daily life, or ShiftMed contacts you in regards to a close contact exposure defined as being less than 6 feet away from an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24 hour period.
Please expect the following:
Fully Vaccinated HCP including the Booster with Exposure:
If you are fully vaccinated including your booster, there are no work restrictions if you remain asymptomatic.
Unvaccinated or Not Fully Vaccinated (have not received the booster):
You can return to work with proof of a negative test within 7 days of exposure (offered within 48 hours of returning to work). We strongly urge you to receive your COVID-19 vaccine and your booster to ensure that you can claim any and all available shifts and continue to work without interruption.
What should you do if you test positive for Covid?
If you test positive for Covid, go into your ShiftMed app and cancel your shift.
If you get a doctors note, you can send it to us via chat and we can use that to excuse your absence. The doctors note must include your full legal name and the date of the test for us to be able to accept it.
When can you come back to work if asymptomatic?
Contingency Guidelines:
If you do not have any symptoms: You can return to work 5 days after original symptoms started or if you have been asymptomatic 5 days after your first positive COVID-19 test. You do NOT need to have a negative test result to return to work.
If you do have symptoms: You can return to work 5 days after the symptoms started, if they are mild and improving, and if it has been 24 hours with no fever (without the use of medication). You do NOT need a negative test result to return to work.
