When people think about strengthening their muscles, eyes are probably not the first thing to come to mind. But like other muscles in the body, it's important to keep your eyes strong. Here are three easy ways to maintain (and maybe improve) your vision.
1. Diet
Zinc and vitamins A, C, and E can help strengthen your eyesight. Green vegetables and citrus fruits are great sources of these vitamins and minerals. Eating these foods as part of a regular diet can help you see things much clearer.
2. Exercise
Exercising, whether it be through daily walks or lifting weights, and drinking enough water can strengthen your eyesight. Staying active also reduces your risk of developing diabetes, which can negatively impact your vision.
3. Protection
When most people think of eye protection, safety glasses or goggles top the list. But sunglasses are just as important to eye health. Being in the sun strains and weakens your eyes over time, so wear your shades as much as possible.
