ShiftMed is in close contact with each "exposed" facility and will continue to update this list during the pandemic. We will continue to keep you updated with as much detail and transparency that we can. We are coordinating with each facility to follow and take the below precautions:
"Exposed" Protocol:
Facilities are picking a particular unit and hall to place any infected or suspected patients on lock down
Lock Down Procedures:
Doors are locked for the entire shifts
Doors are clearly marked to identify that this is a COVID-19 positive location
Every staff member that is assigned to this particular hall will have their surgical mask swapped out for a N95 mask
Every staff member that is on an assigned hall is placed in lock down for their entire shift. They do not leave this hall during their entire shift to further the quarantine
It's important to note that they are limiting agency staff to these poor residents as much as possible given the personal relationship most of the staff have with those unfortunately impacted and need ShiftMed employees to care for the rest of the residents during this unique time.
With upcoming Flu Season and increase in COVID-19 cases, as a Health Care Professional please understand that you may be required to care for residents who have been tested positive for COVID-19.
When we are made aware that a facility you have claimed a shift at has positive COVID-19 residents, we will do our best to notify you in a very timely manner. The rates for the shift will be in the app at the time of the claim. It is up to that facility to offer the hazard pay.
