Some facilities require healthcare professionals with specific specialties to ensure the right expertise is available for patient care. To make this process easier, you can now add your specialty and work history directly in the ShiftMed app - helping you qualify for more opportunities and get verified faster to unlock more shifts!

Why Add a Specialty?

Adding your specialty helps:

  • Unlock more shifts at facilities that require specialized experience

  • Speed up the verification process

How to Add Your Specialty

When adding your Professional License in the app, you’ll have the option to add a specialty as well.

  • Add your Professional License in the app.

  • Select Next to add your specialty (if applicable).

  • Answer some questions about your experience in that specialty.

  • Add your work history related to that specialty.

Add Your Specialty Work History

To verify your specialty, you’ll need to provide work experience from the last 5 years.

When adding work history, you can include:

  • Employer experience where you practiced the specialty

  • Gaps in employment, if applicable

You can add as many employer or gap entries as needed to accurately reflect your experience.

Submitting Your Work History

Once you’ve added at least one work experience:

  • Select Submit to save and send your work history for review.

  • Our team will review your information to verify your specialty.

Need to make a change?

  • You can edit or remove any previously added work experiences or gaps.

  • After making updates, select Submit again to save and send the revised information for review.

What Happens Next?

After submission, your specialty and work history will be reviewed. Once verified, you’ll be able to unlock shifts at facilities that require that specialty, expanding your opportunities on the platform.
