For all Kentucky Healthcare Professionals (CNA, LPN, RN) joining the ShiftMed team, see below for steps to complete your background check.
Background Check Steps:
Once your TB Test, Identification, and Professional License credentials are all verified by ShiftMed’s credentialing team, you will then be invited to complete your Background Check.
You will see three consent forms that will need to be completed: Kentucky OIG Disclosure, Kentucky Pre Screening, and Kentucky OIG Waiver in the 'My Documents' section of the ShiftMed app.
You must complete all three of these forms in order to continue your Background Check process.
Once these forms has been completed, ShiftMed will process and verify your Background Check on the KARES website.
If you have previously been fingerprinted and you have a satisfactory result, ShiftMed may be able to process your Background Check immediately and update your profile to complete your background check credential.
If not ShiftMed will register you with KARES and then IdentoGo will email you a copy of the registration form that you will need to use to schedule an appointment to complete the fingerprinting.
You will need to notify ShiftMed of when this has been completed by emailing bg@shiftmed.com.
Once the appointment is complete, ShiftMed will typically have access to the results within 7 - 10 business days. Your profile will be updated with the results to complete your background check credential.

This email will contain a UE ID Number: This number is very important. This is the number that you will need to schedule your appointment. Please note that ShiftMed pays for the cost of the fingerprinting and you will need to have your UE ID number to ensure that this is billed to our account. Within the email there is a link to the IdentoGo website that you will use to schedule your fingerprinting appointment. There is also a phone number for IdentoGo that you can also contain to schedule your appointment.
Note: The ShiftMed app will notify you right away when you are available to start working.
