As a part of the ShiftMed onboarding process, healthcare professionals in Colorado must be fingerprinted. Here are step-by-step instructions on registering for fingerprinting in the state.

Colorado Fingerprinting Login Screen
  1. Visit the Complio Colorado Fingerprinting website and select the 'Create an Account' button to begin the registration process.

  2. Enter all the required information, then select the 'Create Account & Proceed' button on the screen's lower right-hand corner.

  3. After you create your account, select the 'Get Started' button to begin your fingerprinting order.

  4. Now, you must select a fingerprinting location. If you live in Colorado, you'll want to enter your zip code and click on the 'Search' button to find the nearest location. If you don't live in Colorado or can't physically make it to a location, click the 'Out of State' button and move to Step 6. Please also note the additional out-of-state fingerprinting information in this article.

  5. Next, you must select an appointment based on the available slots.

  6. When asked to make an order selection, choose 'CBI CABS Fingerprinting' from the list of available services. Do not select any other option or you will incur additional fees.

  7. Enter 7750VECI as the CBI Unique ID for your institution and select the 'Next' button.

8. Enter 7750SHIFTEMP as the billing code for your institution and select the 'Next' button.

Enter the Shiftmed billing code

9. Verify the accuracy of your personal information and make any necessary changes before you select the 'Next' button.

Verification of personal information

10. Enter the required fingerprinting information, noting that the fields with asterisks are required. Double-check your information and click 'Next' to proceed. If a daycare license # is required, please enter the license number for your institution (which is not applicable).

11. Once you've verified your information as correct, please click the 'checkbox' to agree with the privacy statement and select 'Next.'

12. You'll receive a warning about this being your last chance to double-check your information. If everything is correct, click 'OK' to continue.

13. You'll receive a summary of your order. Click 'Next' to submit your order.

14. You'll see your order ID on the screen, which will be emailed or texted to you (if you opted to receive text notifications). You'll need this order ID number when you go for fingerprinting.

Fingerprinting Appointment Checklist

Before heading out to your appointment, please take the following two items with you.

  1. Order ID (referenced in Step 14)

  2. Government-issued Photo ID (any one of the following)

    1. Valid Driver's License

    2. Valid Identification Card

    3. Federal ID Card

    4. Valid Commercial Driver's License

    5. Valid U.S. Passport

    6. Valid Foreign Passport

    7. Valid Passport Book/Card

    8. Valid U.S. Military Identification Card

    9. Permanent Resident Card/Green Card

    10. Enhanced Tribal Card

Fingerprint Rejections

If the CBI or FBI rejects your fingerprints, you'll receive an email or a text notification (if you opted to receive text notifications.) If your fingerprints are rejected, DO NOT PLACE A NEW ORDER. You'll need to schedule a new appointment under the existing order.

Out-of-State Fingerprinting

If you're an applicant who resides outside of Colorado (or is unable to physically visit a fingerprinting location in Colorado) and selected the non-resident fingerprint processing, these are the steps you must follow:

  1. You must have your fingerprints taken on FD-258 fingerprint cards. Typically, you can do this through a local law enforcement agency or private agency qualified to take fingerprints.

    1. We recommend obtaining two (2) fingerprint cards, which must be signed by you and the official taking your fingerprints. Please be sure to complete all identifiable information.

  2. At the end of the enrollment process, please print out your confirmation receipt with your order number.

  3. If you plan to use a money order or business check for payment, please make the appropriate amount payable to American Bioidentity.

  4. Mail all the items listed above in steps 1-3 to:
