Background Check Prerequisites
Before you can start your background check, you must first have your core credentials verified.
This includes your Professional License, Identification and I-9.
Additionally, you must have completed fingerprinting within the last six (6) months.
If you have already completed fingerprinting within the last 6 months, see this section for additional background check requirements.
If you have NOT completed fingerprinting within the last six months
IMPORTANT: Fingerprinting is not the only background check requirement for Delaware. See this section for additional background check requirements.
ShiftMed will email your official Criminal History Fingerprint Request Form to begin the process.
You will need to take this form with you to your fingerprinting appointment.
You MUST wait for this form to arrive from ShiftMed Credential before taking any action.
Fingerprints are only valid with this document.
Once you receive the Criminal History Fingerprint Request Form, schedule an appointment for fingerprints by calling (302) 421-7400, option 5 to schedule.

Additional Background Check Requirements
The following items are also required for all shifts in Delaware.
Drug Screening must be completed by ShiftMed within the last 60 days; Third party drug screenings will NOT be accepted.
Service Letter or References
If a Service Letter through Delaware is not available, References are required.
Eligibility Letter from Criminal History Check.
What Happens Next
Fingerprinting results are typically available within 2-4 weeks.
While processing, your Background Check credential will appear as "Pending" in the My Credentials section of the app.
Once Your Background Check is Complete
When we receive the final results, your profile and credential status will be updated automatically. You will then see this requirement marked as complete.
