As a part of the ShiftMed onboarding process, CNAs in North Carolina must complete a background check that involves submitting their fingerprints to National Background Information (NBI).
By visiting the NBI website, you’ll find a list of law enforcement agencies across the state where you can make an appointment to get a fingerprint card. Please note the website says there are no live scan locations in North Carolina with electronic submissions to the NBI. However, this is outdated information.
Currently, these four locations offer electronic fingerprint submissions to NBI. If you’re interested in visiting one of these locations, please contact the respective sheriff’s office to schedule an appointment.
We’ve already paid for your fingerprints to be taken, so don’t forget to take the two-page form we sent you to your appointment.
