As a ShiftMed W-2 employee, you may be eligible for workers’ compensation if you suffer from a work-related illness or injury.

Every state has different laws for reporting injuries and filing workers’ compensation claims. Visit the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP) page on the U.S. Department of Labor website to see how your state handles workers’ compensation claims.

However, here are some basic workers’ compensation protocols for you to follow:

Report Your Work Injury

Please contact ShiftMed to report your work-related illness or injury as soon as possible. States have different time limits regarding workers reporting illness or injury to their employers. If your injury requires immediate medical attention, visit the nearest urgent care or emergency room. You’ll need to follow your state’s rules for seeking medical treatment for all other treatments.

File a Workers’ Compensation Claim

When you contact ShiftMed about your work-related illness or injury, we’ll provide you with an Impairment Rating (IR) form that you must complete and return. From there, we’ll open a workers’ compensation claim for you.

Open Workers’ Compensation Claim

ShiftMed will submit your workers’ compensation claim to our workers’ compensation provider, PMA Companies. PMA will investigate the incident before approving or denying your claim.

If you have any questions about your open workers’ compensation claim, you must contact PMA a (888) 476-2669. If you need additional support, please contact the ShiftMed Help Line at 1-800-485-9002.
