Your verified credentials directly determine the number and type of shifts available to you in the app. While all ShiftMed professionals meet core requirements, many facility partners have additional, specific mandates.
Understanding the "Unlock" Button
A shift card will display an "Unlock" button instead of a "Claim" button if you are missing a required credential.
Once your missing documentation is verified, the "Unlock" button will change to "Claim," giving you access to all applicable shifts
Tap the Unlock button to display the specific requirements for that shift. These requirements typically fall into one of three categories:
1. Missing or Expired Credential
Required documents include:
Annual Physical & TB Test
Vaccination Records (MMR, Flu, COVID)
Drug Screening
Health Insurance Card
Resume & References
2. Missing Specialty Certification
For specialty shifts (e.g., ICU, ER, Med/Surg), your specific certification must be on file and verified.
For specialty certifications, you will also receive a verification questionnaire via text to complete.
3. Missing Orientation Shift
Some facilities require a completed orientation shift before you can claim regular shifts.
Some orientation shifts align with a specific nursing specialty. For example, if you're an RN with a Med/Surg specialty, be sure to complete the Med/Surg orientation.
