The I9 is a form that is required by law in order to verify an employees identity and authorization to work as a paid employee in the United States.

As a part of becoming a ShiftMed employee, one must complete the I-9. This will be completed electronically using the ShiftMed app. The I-9 process will be completed by using the I-9 tab within the My Credentials page in the app.

Section 1 includes basic information such as Name, Date of Birth and Contact Information.

While Section 2 involves the documents that are getting used for the potential employees identity and authorization to work. One must submit either one document from List A,

OR one document from List B in combination with one document from List C.

Before completing the I-9 Credential the potential employee will want to be sure to upload the document or documents into the app that you are going to be using for your verification.

To start the I-9 Credential Process the potential employee will be prompted to enter a text verification code.

After entering the verification code, review the basic information that will be displayed such the first and last name, date of birth and address and verify they are correct.

The next step in the I-9 Credential process is for the potential employee to select their citizen type from the dropdown box.

And, then to sign the Section 1 of the I-9 Electronically, select the next "I Agree" box. This completes the Section 1 of the I-9.

The next step in the process is to prepare for the meeting with the potential employee's authorized representative. As a remote employee you will need to provide your identification and employment authorization documents in person to an Authorized Representative that we the company approve. This representative can be anyone over the age of 18 who is not yourself and who is able to serve as your agent in completing Section 2 if the I-9. You will need to present them with your original documents for them to verify they are genuine.

Step 1 - Enter the information for your Authorized Representative

You will need the following information for your Authorized Representative:

First and Last Name

Email Address

Phone Number

You need to prepare for your meeting by informing ShiftMed what documents you intend to present during the in-person verification.

Step 2 - Enter the document information that you plan to use for your in-person verification

Select one document from List A or a combination of one document from both List B and List C. Be sure you upload these documents into the app as well.
