For all Illinois Healthcare Professionals (CNA, LPN, RN) joining the ShiftMed team, see below for steps to complete your background check.

CNA:

  1. Once your TB Test, Health Screening, Identification, and Professional License credentials are all verified by ShiftMed’s credentialing team, you will then be invited to complete your Background Check.

  2. You will see the IL Background Check Authorization form in the 'My Documents' section of the ShiftMed app.

    1. You must complete this form in order to continue your Background Check Process.

  3. Once this form has been completed, ShiftMed will process and verify your Background Check on the IDPH website.

  4. If you have previously been fingerprinted, ShiftMed will then check IDPH for your eligibility status:

    1. Each HCP approved must have a result to pass and be an active CNA (Active is defined as receiving a CNA certification in the past 2 years or has worked as a CNA within the last 2 years)

  5. If you have not been previously fingerprinted, ShiftMed will then request in the IDPH website for a request to complete a form for the LiveScan fingerprinting. This information will be emailed directly to you for completion. ShiftMed will receive the results once you have completed the fingerprint form.

LPN/RN:

  1. Once your TB Test, Health Screening, Identification, and Professional License credentials are all verified by ShiftMed’s credentialing team, you will then be invited to complete your Background Check.

  2. ShiftMed will process verify your license status within the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation.

    1. Eligible LPN/RNs must have an active license with no public orders or issues with abuse or neglect.

Note: The ShiftMed app will notify you right away when you are available to start working.
