Background Check Prerequisites
Before you can start your background check, you must first have your core credentials verified. This includes your Professional License, Identification and I-9.
Complete your consent forms in the 'My Documents' section of the ShiftMed app. There are three forms:
Kentucky OIG Disclosure
Kentucky Pre Screening
Kentucky OIG Waiver
Once all forms are signed and completed, ShiftMed will process and verify your Background Check on the KARES website.
If you have previously been fingerprinted through KARES
ShiftMed may be able to process your Background Check immediately and update your profile to complete your background check credential.
If you have NOT previously been fingerprinted through KARES
ShiftMed will register you with KARES
IdentoGo will email you a copy of the registration form used to schedule an appointment to complete the fingerprinting requirement.
IMPORTANT: The IdentoGo email will contain a UE ID number, which is used to schedule your appointment. You MUST use this UE ID number to ensure ShiftMed is billed for the cost of the fingerprinting.
You will need to notify ShiftMed of when this has been completed by emailing bg@shiftmed.com.
What Happens Next
Fingerprinting results are typically available within 10 days.
While processing, your Background Check credential will appear as "Pending" in the My Credentials section of the app.
Once Your Background Check is Complete
When we receive the final results, your profile and credential status will be updated automatically. You will then see this requirement marked as complete.
