Background Check Prerequisites
Before you can start your background check, you must first have your core credentials verified. This includes your Professional License, Identification and I-9.
Complete the Florida Background Check Authorization form in the 'My Documents' section of the ShiftMed app.
You must complete this form in order to continue your Background Check process.
If you have previously been fingerprinted through AHCA
ShiftMed will check AHCA for your eligibility status and date:
If your eligibility date is within the past 90 days
ShiftMed will process your Background Check and update your profile to complete your background check credential.
If your eligibility date is not within the past 90 days
ShiftMed will submit a resubmission on your behalf.
This takes 5-7 days to process.
If you have not been fingerprinted through AHCA before
You will receive information by email on how to complete your fingerprinting at a local Fast FingerPrint location.

What Happens Next
Results are typically available within 3-4 weeks.
While processing, your Background Check credential will appear as "Pending" in the My Credentials section of the app.
Once Your Background Check is Complete
When we receive the final results, your profile and credential status will be updated automatically. You will then see this requirement marked as complete.
