Background Check Prerequisites
Before you can start your background check, you must first have your core credentials verified. This includes your Professional License, Identification and I-9.
Background Check Steps
There are different background check options, depending on your residency.
If you have 12 months continuous residency in the state of South Carolina, ShiftMed will complete a SLED Background Check.
No further action is required.
If you do not have 12-month continuous residency, you will receive an email invitation to complete your Background Check through Checkr.
To initiate a background check, you must first unlock a shift
On the "Unlock Facility" page, find the Complete Requirements section.
Select the Background Check option.
Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the required forms directly in the app. You must finish these forms to proceed.
The ShiftMed app will notify you right away when you are available to start working.
What Happens Next
Checkr results are typically available within 2-3 weeks
The Estimated Completion Date can be viewed on the Checkr website.
SLED results are typically immediate. If a mail-in form is requested, results could take 2-4 weeks.
While processing, your Background Check credential will appear as "Pending" in the My Credentials section of the app.
Once Your Background Check is Complete
When we receive the final results, your profile and credential status will be updated automatically. You will then see this requirement marked as complete.
