For all Pennsylvania Healthcare Professionals (CNA, LPN, RN) joining the ShiftMed team, see below for steps to complete your background check.
Background Check Steps:
Once your TB Test, Annual Physical, Identification, Social Security Card, and Professional License credentials are all verified by ShiftMed’s credentialing team, you will then be invited to complete your Background Check in the app.
If you do not have a 2-year residency in the state of Pennsylvania - then your first step in the Background Check process will be to complete an FBI Background Check through the PA Department of Aging.
More information on this process can be found here.
Once you have started your FBI Background Check you can move on to Step 3.
If you do have a 2-year residency in the state of Pennsylvania or have completed the FBI Background Check, go to My Credentials and under the "Needs your attention" you will see Background Check -> Missing. Select the Background Check option, and follow the prompts on the screen.
You must complete these forms in the app in order to continue your Background Check process.
Once this form has been completed, ShiftMed will receive the results of your background check. The Check with the PA Patch Background Check can take up to 7-10 days to be processed. Your profile will be updated with the results to complete your background.
While ShiftMed is waiting for the PA Patch Background Check to be received, the status of your Background Check credential will show as ‘pending’ in the ‘My Credentials’ section of the ShiftMed app.
Once ShiftMed receives your Checkr Background check with your PA Patch Background Check results, your profile will be updated with the results to complete your background check credential.
Note: The ShiftMed app will notify you right away when you are available to start working.
