This article is intended for healthcare professionals claiming shifts in the state of California. If you are not claiming shifts in California, this article does not apply to you.


In order for you to input your breaks in app, you must begin the clock out procedure. Once you are ready to clock out you will be prompted to fill out the CA 530 Form. This will allow you to provide your break times so we can capture data accurately.

You will need to fill out:

  1. You break times (both in and out)

  2. Your unit/station/wing/floor

  3. Your Nursing Services Assignment

If you worked less than 5 hours and took a break, your clock out procedure will look like this:

If you worked less than 10 hours and took a break, your clock out procedure will look like this:

If you DID NOT take a break, your clock out procedure will look like this:

Please remember:

  • Meal Periods are unpaid.

  • If you work more than five hours (5), but less than six (6), hours a day can agree to waive their meal period. An employee who works more than ten (10) hours, but less than twelve (12) hours a day, may waive their second meal period, only if they did not waive their first meal period.

  • If you work more than six (6) hours, you MUST take an unpaid meal period.
