Healthcare professionals are exposed to various infectious diseases when caring for patients. Therefore, you should stay up-to-date on routine vaccinations, such as Varicella also know as Chickenpox
The CDC recommends 2 doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine for adults to protect against the disease.
Vaccine and Titer Requirements
Some ShiftMed facility partners require healthcare professionals to show proof of completing the Varicella vaccination or a positive titer test. In other words, if you don't meet the requirements, the ShiftMed app won't allow you to claim shifts at these locations.
Varicella Vaccine Checklist
The Varicella vaccine is typically a series of at least 2 vaccines completed in early childhood.
When adding your vaccine information to the app, you must have/include the following:
Your Full Name
Varicella Vaccine Label
Vaccination Location Information
Vaccination Administration Dates
Varicella Positive Titer Checklist
When adding your Positive Titer information to the app, you must include the following:
Your Full Name
Location of Titer Blood Test Completion
Varicella Titer Label
Positive Immunity Result
Patient Summary
Please note - We cannot accept documentation stating that you've had the Varicella virus/chickenpox disease in the past. You must either submit proof of your vaccination or a positive/immune titer.
Adding Your Information to the App
To submit your Varicella Vaccine or Titer follow these steps:
Go to My Credentials and tap Varicella Vaccine located under either Required, Additional, or Unlock depending on your location.
Choose whether you are uploading a Vaccine, or Titer from the dropdown.
Medical History will not be used from this dropdown as we do not accept documentation stating that you have had Chickenpox.
Follow the steps to upload an image of your proof of vaccination or Positive Titer
