IMPORTANT: Badges are mailed to the address listed on your profile. To prevent delays, it’s important that your mailing address is up-to-date and accurate. You can update this information in the ShiftMed app.

A ShiftMed badge is NOT required to claim a shift.

Your badge photo is the same as your profile photo in the app. Since this photo serves as your identification for accessing certain facilities, it’s important to choose a professional and appropriate image. You can update your profile picture in the app at any time.

Quick Tip: If you wouldn’t wear it to work, it’s not suitable for your badge!

To help you select the right photo, here are some Do’s and Don’ts for your profile picture/badge photo:

DO’s:

✔ Use a high-quality, clear headshot: Face should be well-lit, in focus, and centered.

✔ Wear professional attire: Opt for scrubs or business casual clothing.

✔ Keep a neutral or friendly expression: A natural smile is encouraged (avoid exaggerated expressions).

✔ Use a plain, light-colored background: Ensures your face is the focus.

✔ Ensure good grooming: Hair should be neat, and facial hair (if applicable) should be tidy.

✔ Follow workplace guidelines: Some facilities require specific dress codes (e.g., no hats, religious attire only if normally worn at work).

DON’Ts:

✖ Use selfies or casual photos: Avoid cropped group photos, filters, or distracting backgrounds.

✖ Wear non-work-appropriate clothing: No tank tops, casual wear, or revealing outfits.

✖ Include accessories that obscure your face: Avoid sunglasses, hats (unless religious/medical), or excessive jewelry.

✖ Use overly dramatic makeup or hairstyles: Keep it professional and natural-looking.

✖ Submit old or outdated photos: Your badge photo should look like you now.

Remember: Your badge is part of your professional identity—choose a photo that reflects competence, approachability, and trustworthiness.
