What happens if you arrive for your shift and the facility doesn’t need you? Or what if the facility sends you home early from your shift?
The ˈBeing Sent Homeˈ feature in the ShiftMed app makes it quick and easy for you to notify us in real-time when a facility sends you home.
How does it work?
When a facility sends you home, you can access the ˈBeing Sent Homeˈ feature from your ˈShift Informationˈ screen. Tap on the ˈMore Optionsˈ button to access the ˈBeing Sent Homeˈ button.
Details to Remember:
• You must be at the facility when you select the ˈBeing Sent Homeˈ button.
• The ˈBeing Sent Homeˈ button is visible one hour before a shift starts.
• A shift does not have to be confirmed to use the ˈBeing Sent Homeˈ feature.
What about Pay?
If a facility sends you home immediately upon your arrival or less than two hours into your shift, we will pay you for two hours of the shift’s posted hourly rate. In this scenario, your sent home early bonus will be automatically available in the ShiftMed app and eligible for Next Day Pay®.
If a facility sends you home more than two hours into a shift, we will pay you for the hours you worked. Currently, Next Day Pay is not automatically available for this scenario.
If you are sent home from one of our Guaranteed Shifts®, we will pay you for the full shift. However, if you arrived late to the shift, you forfeit the guarantee of getting paid should the facility send you home.
Currently, Next Day Pay is not automatically available for this scenario.
You can see your sent home pay in the past shift section of ˈMy Shiftsˈ.
What if I forget to use the ˈBeing Sent Homeˈ feature while at the facility?
The ˈBeing Sent Homeˈ feature uses your location to confirm that you are at the facility from which you are being sent home. If you are sent home early from a shift and forget to indicate this in the ShiftMed app, please contact ShiftMed support as soon as possible by calling 1-800-485-9002.
