The Being Sent Home feature in the ShiftMed app makes it quick and easy for you to notify us in real-time when a facility sends you home.
App Instructions
Whether you arrive for your shift and the facility doesn't need you or the nursing supervisor sends you home early, you must notify us via the Being Sent Home feature in the app.
Go to your Shift Information screen.
Tap on the More Options button.
Select the I'm Being Sent Home button (visible one hour before a shift starts).
Get a nursing supervisor's signature, if required.
You must be at the facility when you select the Being Sent Home button.
Forget to Notify Us?
If you're sent home early and leave the facility without notifying us through the app, please contact us as soon as possible via the app's chat function. Why?
The Being Sent Home feature uses your location to confirm you're at the facility. So, if you're not there, we need to verify the information to ensure you receive the applicable payment.
Pay Information
When you're sent home early, you won't leave the facility empty-handed. Here's what you can expect depending on your scenario:
If you are sent home upon arrival or less than two hours into your shift, we will pay you for two hours at the shift's posted rate. If it's a Massachusetts facility, you will receive three hours of pay.
If you are sent home more than two hours into your shift, we will pay you for the hours worked.
If you arrive on time and are sent home from a Guaranteed Shift, we will pay you for the entire shift at the posted rate. If you arrive late, you forfeit the guarantee of getting paid.
Currently, Next Day Pay® and ShiftMed Instant Pay™ are not available in any of these scenarios. You will be paid on the regularly scheduled payday.
