Encompass is an inpatient rehabilitation hospital, not a nursing home, which serves high-acuity patients such as those recovering from stroke, brain injury, or spinal cord injury.

With an average patient load of four to eight per healthcare provider, it provides intensive therapy for complex conditions.

Orientation Shifts

Orientations for Encompass are location specific and will not grant access to all Encompass hospitals.

You can find available orientation shifts posted by the hospitals right in the app. Be sure to look up your preferred Encompass hospital's info for all the orientation specifics. Don't worry about access—we'll have your logins, EMR, and medication systems all set up and ready to go for your very first shift.

Attendance Policy

  • Clocking in and out:

    • You are required to clock in and out for every shift using the ShiftMed app.

    • Your electronic timestamp serves as your mandatory attendance signature.

  • Missed Punches:

    • If you are unable to use the app, you must promptly request a missed punch form from the Care Team to correct your time.

  • Cancelling a Shift:

    • If you need to cancel a shift, you must both report it in the ShiftMed app
      AND notify the hospital directly.

      • The hospital's contact information is available within the facility info section of the app.

Failure to adhere to these procedures, or patterns of excessive lateness or cancellations, may impact your future shift opportunities at the facility.
