Background Check Steps
Before you can start your background check, you must first have your core credentials verified. This includes your Professional License, Identification and I-9.
ShiftMed will initiate a background check through Indiana State Police to verify your record.
This will happen automatically; no action is needed.
In the event that the background check results come back as inconclusive, a fingerprint based background check will be required. ShiftMed will email the additional information that is required.
What Happens Next
Background Check results are typically available within 1-2 weeks.
If fingerprinting is required, this may take longer.
While processing, your Background Check credential will appear as "Pending" in the My Credentials section of the app.
Once Your Background Check is Complete
When we receive the final results, your profile and credential status will be updated automatically. You will then see this requirement marked as complete.
