What is Post-Acute?
Post-acute care is the stage of healthcare that comes after a patient has been treated for an illness or injury. This includes ongoing medical and rehabilitative services to help patients transition from a hospital back to their home or another care facility.
How do I Apply for Post-Acute Work?
You’ll follow the standard onboarding process right in the ShiftMed app—simple and straightforward.
What do I Need to Apply for Post-Acute Work?
Requirements vary by state and facility, but the app will guide you every step of the way. Once you select a facility and tap Unlock, you’ll see exactly what documents and credentials are required.
Some of the credentials you may need to upload are:
A TB test and/or Physical
License Certificate (physical copy of your license)
References

MMR

What is Acute?
Acute care refers to a branch of healthcare that provides immediate and short-term treatment for patients with severe or urgent medical conditions. This type of care is typically delivered in hospitals, emergency rooms, or intensive care units (ICUs) where patients need fast, focused, and often life-saving medical attention.
How do I Apply for Acute Work?
You can start the process right in the ShiftMed app! If you just downloaded the app, you will have the option to upload your Specialty during your onboarding process, which will automatically open up Acute shifts for you to see. From there, you will just need to find a facility that works for you. Simply tap Unlock and upload the credentials they require!

What do I Need to Apply for Acute Work?
IMPORTANT: The first step to applying for Acute work is uploading your Specialty in the ShiftMed mobile app.
Each Acute care facility has its own credentialing requirements, which may also vary by state. The specific credentials you'll need depend on where you plan to pick up shifts and which facility you choose.
The good news? The ShiftMed app makes it easy. When you tap Unlock on a facility, the app will show you exactly which credentials are required—no guesswork involved. Just upload the necessary documents, and our team will review them as quickly as possible!
