Your references should be someone who is able to answer ShiftMed’s questions about work ethic, reliability, ability to provide adequate care services. In some cases, this needs to a Supervisor.

  • This person must be able to receive, and reply to, SMS text messages. Their phone number is required for verification.

References are typically considered a Facility Specific Credential, however, there are some states that require it as part of the initial onboarding process.

Adding Your References In-App

  1. Navigate to the Shift Feed and locate a facility you want to work at

  2. Tap Unlock

  3. Tap References on the Unlock screen

  4. Enter your Reference's information

  5. After entering your Reference's information, click "Add Reference".

  6. Once submitted, they will show at the bottom of the screen as "Active References" and will show as pending until we have verified their responses. Your reference will receive "Yes" or "No" text messages requesting they answer questions about you. We will need them to respond to those texts, so be sure to let them know.
